Green Sweater

Note from Heather:  I used Lion Brand Thick and Quick yarn.  I bought 2 skeins of the green "grass" yarn in WI.  I used my stash to add some stripes because I was nervous that 2 skeins wasn't enough for the sweater.  I was right.  I sent my mom back to her Michaels store and I ventured to 2 stores.  My friend Diana finally found the yarn in Minneapolis.  I was hoping the thicker yarn and larger needle size would work on this pattern that I like so much!  It didn't.

Janet's Hermione Hat

Note from Janet: Here is my Hermione hat that I made with Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran (which was a Christmas gift) to make a perfect gray hat for myself! The pattern was simple and knit up quickly, and the yarn is lovely! I wish I had done a twisted rib for the ribbing, but I didn't check out other peoples' projects and comments until I was ready to decrease. Doing an alternate cable cast on was enough to think about at the time! Maybe I'll make another one sometime. Now I need to get to work on my husband's Harry Potter scarf, hat and mittens :)

More Dishcloths by Stacy

Note from Stacy:  This will be all of the washcloths for a while for me!  BUT....there are four that I want to do for two new babies. I bought the super soft I love this cotton yarn for that.

Addison's red hat from Janet

Note from Heather:  Addison enjoys her red hat.  She wears it in the house.  She won't let me take it off her.  She wore it to church on Sunday with a red and black outfit.  She got tons of compliments on her hat.  I was sure to give Janet all the credit.

Headband

Note from Janet: I had a little bit of extra yarn from making a scarf for my sister and it was so soft and such a nice gray that I had to do something with it!

An unoriginal hat for me

Note from Janet: I got this lovely yarn for Chirstmas and knew this was the hat I wanted to make with it! It is a few rows too long, but I made it while I was sick and wasn't paying attention that I was on my 3rd pattern repeat, where I planned on taking out a few more rows. I still love it - the yarn, the pattern, the finished hat!

Red Bucket Felt Hat...for Addison?

Note from Janet: I followed the pattern exactly, but used a different brand of felting yarn and after 1 wash, it was the size of a Cool Whip container! Maybe Heather's little girl can wear it. I'm sure she'd look adorable! I'll try again and make some modifications...

Diagonal Scarf

Note from Janet:  More yarn for a Christmas gift - yeah!! I thought this would look nice with my red felted bucket hat... see previous post.

Mittens and Scarf to go with BR hat

Note from Janet: I bought a ball of cream yarn, used a little of the leftover green and got a hat, mittens, scarf set for about $10! I love how thick and toasty warm they are!

Flat Feet Socks

Note from Janet: I got this yarn a while ago for my birthday and knit them up pretty quickly, but for some reason didn't start wearing them right away... maybe I finished them in the spring or summer? Anyway, these are now my favorite socks to keep my feet warm! I don't like knitting on tiny needles (I call them toothpicks) but these were done on a #3, so not bad for socks, and I do love small projects and knitting in a circle. I think there will be more flat feet socks in my future!

Eli's Christmas Sweater

Note from Janet: I got away with only making one sweater this year since Luke could wear one of Eli's from a previous year that my sister had made. I thought I was so on top of things finishing it 2 weeks before this first Christmas program (last year's vests for both boys were completed 2 hrs before their first program!) but I failed to try it on him before we went to the auditorium and it would not go over his head!! After some screaming (Eli, not me, but I was close) I got out my Swiss Army knife and cut it. Just loosening up the BO row did the trick. Okay, okay, I get it, I BO too tightly!!!

An Orange Hat for Kim

Note from Heather:  I didn't think Kim's hat was thick enough or warm enough so I made her a new one.  I didn't find this nice orange yarn until the day before I was giving her the grey hat.

Porter's earflap hat

Note from Heather:  Porter's coat cost $3.  The yarn to knit his coordination hat cost more than $3.  It still needs braided cords.  I'll make them.  Someday.
