Carrie's scarf

Note from Carrie: Here's my scarf I figured out like a big girl :)  I really like it and may make myself one but I would make it two times longer.

Gray Lace Scarf

Note from Janet: I will not be making another one of these any time soon!! I love the pattern and the yarn (it's Malabrigo, so that goes without saying!) but it took me forever, or at least it felt like it! Since it is lace yarn on small needles (although I used #5 which is 2 sizes bigger than the pattern called for) I felt like I wasn't making any progress when I'd work on it for short amounts of time. I'm happy to be done and now I can just enjoy wearing it!

Noro Scarf

Note from Janet:  I love this pattern and the yarn! It went really fast for me (10 days) with those triple wraps. I made one for my sister for her b-day and I'm pretty sure my MIL will be buying some Noro for me to make one for her, too :)

My Chicago Scarf

Note from Heather:  The majority of this scarf was knit in the van on the way to Chicago and on the way back home.  I had to order another skein of Spud and Chloe yarn as I felt it was too short.  Sometimes I think I should make it even longer.  Janet made this pattern and I just had to try it.  I like what the cable does to the edge.

A scarf for my aunt

Note from Heather:  My aunt and I saw a sample of this scarf at a knitting store.  The colors are definitely my aunt's colors.  I told her if she purchased the yarn, I'd knit the scarf.  I finished the 17,516 stitches in less than 3 weeks.

Ribs and Ruffle Scarf

Note from Heather:  My family went on an overnight road trip.  The first of 4 knitting stores that we stopped at was in Iowa City and called The Kniting Shoppe.  When I was in labor with Addison, I was knitting a baby sweater for her.  The nurse told me her sister-in-law owned a shop in Iowa City.  4 years later, we visited the shop.  I purchased the skein of yarn and received the free pattern.  The store owner put it in a page protector so I could start knitting it right away in the van and in the hotel.  It was like she knew me!  I did knit the scarf right away.  I had a hard time putting it down.  It was finished by the time we came home the next day.

Love this yarn!

Note from Janet: I loved this yarn so much that it took me a year to make a hat, scarf, mitten set out of it. I know that sounds crazy, but I loved this hat pattern that was a lot of work, but I figured I might as well take the time to do it w/ this great yarn. The colors are perfect (2shades of gray and 2 shades of brown) for me, the neutral loving gal :)  I made the mittens next, from my trusty mitten pattern. It took me a while to find a scarf pattern that I loved to go with it and then I found the rib and cable scarf - 3 ribs and cable down the side. This is a great set that goes with anything - dressy, casual, white, cream, brown... It's my fav!!

Candle Flame Scarf

A Zig-Zag Scarf

Note from Heather:  I took skeins of yarn that needed a purpose to one of our knitting gatherings.  Janet shared a pattern for this yarn.  I love it!  People are really impressed with my scarf.  I just followed the directions.  The instructions were 4 pages long but the project wasn't scary.

Diagonal Scarf

Note from Janet:  More yarn for a Christmas gift - yeah!! I thought this would look nice with my red felted bucket hat... see previous post.

Mittens and Scarf to go with BR hat

Note from Janet: I bought a ball of cream yarn, used a little of the leftover green and got a hat, mittens, scarf set for about $10! I love how thick and toasty warm they are!

A Scarf for the Teacher

Note from Janet: Here's my other teacher scarf to go w/ the brown fingerless mits. This yarn is so soft and warm, but I don't like knitting w/ "fun" yarn that doesn't give. My sister made me a whole poncho out of this yarn and every time I worked on the scarf, I would thank her again for my favorite poncho!
